Physics in Medicine (Bonn)

In the module Physics in Medicine you will deepen previous knowledge and specialize in astrophysics, acquire and train new skills. This includes

  • to understand the physics behind different medical diagnostic procedures, including the analysis of complex systems,
  • their ability to apply methods of different fields of physics like statistical, nuclear or condensed matter physics to applied problems in medicine,
  • to make use of an interdisciplinary approach to techniques of modern day medicine.

The module prepares for topics of current research in Physics in Medicine and towards their own research activity within the master thesis. Lectures in the SAoS Physics in Medicine can be chosen from a list here. For introduction, the lecture Physics in Medicine I: Fundamentals of Analyzing Biomedical Signals, physics772, is strongly recommended.
